Situated in the Tallangatta Valley in North East Victoria, about 80 kms from Albury-Wodonga via the Murray Valley Highway, Waterfall Creek lies in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range in a 1000mm rainfall area.
The property consists of 60 hectares of rolling foothill and valley country with paddocks ranging from 2 to 8ha. A number of paddocks are set up as "feed management with movement" paddock tracks.
Waterfall Creek has been managed using organic principles since 1995. Pasture is plentiful and predominantly native, with a mix of other grasses including phalaris, rye grass, fog grass, cocksfoot, fescue, and some clover. Horse hay is cut as required from the mixed pasture paddocks.
Horses are watered from troughs and spring fed dams. Each paddock offers the horses environmental shelter through well established remnant bush corridors and planted tree shelter belts. Fencing is a mix of well maintained netting, plain wire electric and ring-lock.
Waterfall Creek is in a region that has four distinct seasons. At 400 metres above sea level, our summers are temperate and cool diurnal valley breezes make for pleasant evenings. The natural shelter protects the horses from the extremes of summers and winters. This is an area in which horses revel.
